چکیده
Most of the complex (e-Business) information systems need to accomplish with the use of open standards. Environmental Management Systems (EMS), for instance, states with the international regulations of the ISO 14000 family, which establish the requirements to be fulfilled by an EMS in order to be accepted as such. One of these requirements concerns the User Interfaces Development. Because of the variety of final users that interact in this sort of complex information system (politicians, technicians, administrators, and so on) and due to a great deal of information (some critical and confidential), it is important to have real and practical scientific/technical proposals in order to build fast and efficient information exploitation systems. The humancomputer interaction (HCI) of these systems need user interfaces that adapt to the users profiles’ habits, and with intelligent software agents that mediate by the users in the search processes, exploitation and decisionmaking tasks. In this work we present a part of the SOLERES-HCI, a framework of the Soleres Project for developing COTS user interfaces by using trading agents. Our studies are being applied for developing advanced EMS and approaching Model-driven engineering techniques to the UI-COTS development.

ACASA - a framework for Adaptable COTS-Aware Software Architecting
The use of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components presents a great promise, as well as challenges and risks. In this paper, we describe our ongoing research on developing adaptable software architectures using COTS components. In particular, we describe an Adaptable COTS-Aware Software Architecting (ACASA) framework that addresses the concerns of the various stakeholders of the proposed sys...

User Interface (UI) is that subset of a software system that interacts with the user of the system. Being a software system in itself, UI possesses certain attributes or non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as usability, reliability, simplicity, unambiguity, etc. However, recently, adaptability is emerging as an important characteristic for UI systems. Briefly, adaptability is the ability of...
متن کاملTrading for COTS Components in Open Environments
Trading is a well-known mechanism for searching and locating services in object-oriented systems. However, current traders present some limitations when tried to be used in open component-based environments. In this paper we analyze the required features that COTS components traders should have, and describe the design and implementation of COTStrader, an Internet-based trader for COTS componen...
متن کاملUser Interface Composition with COTS-UI and Trading Approaches: Application for Web-Based Environmental Information Systems
Due to the globalization of the information and knowledge society on the Internet, modern Web-based Information Systems (WIS) must be flexible and prepared to be easily accessible and manageable in real-time. In recent times it has received a special interest the globalization of information through a common vocabulary (i.e., ontologies), and the standardized way in which information is retriev...
متن کاملA Non-Functional Approach for COTS Components Trading
In CBSD, the possible benefits of COTS software development, such as low cost, low risk, and high quality, cannot be satisfactorily achieved due to inadequate and/or incomplete proposals for component specification. In particular, non-functional aspects play an important role for components description and selection, but are usually not taken into account when documenting components and searchi...
